Wen Long, a research scientist in the DOE Pacific Northwest National Lab (www.pnnl.gov), has created some beautiful plots for his work studying ocean currents in Puget Sound waterways off the coast of Washington State, including the one here. You may want to use the MATLAB to Tecplot converter he created and posted on the cfd-online forum:
